Hi, I'm so glad you're here!
Hi, I'm so glad you're here!
The Story
Hi! I’m Cierra Crowley — a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, wife, mama of three, speaker, a passionate health advocate for kids, and the heart behind Bite Sized Wellness.
For over 12 years, I’ve cared for kids and families — first as a pediatric nurse and now as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. My experience spans pediatric intensive care, pediatric obesity medicine, pediatric nutrition and health promotion, precision medicine, and youth fitness.
I’ve seen firsthand the weight of preventable illness, health struggles, and safety emergencies on children and families. And I’ve also seen how much of it could be prevented with earlier support.
Where it started …
Working in pediatric intensive care showed me how fragile life is with little ones. My years in obesity medicine opened my eyes to something I couldn't ignore: kids barely out of toddlerhood already struggling with weight, gut issues, and health challenges.
The research hit me hardest — the first 1,000 days of life set the stage for brain development, growth, metabolism, and long-term health. Yet those are the hardest years for parents: recovering from birth, adjusting to routines, navigating new challenges, and trying to keep tiny humans alive and thriving. Not to mention navigating the challenges of their busy lifestyles as they age and supporting their health as they mature.
My why…
Then I became a mom and finally understood the reality. Despite my medical training, I felt the same overwhelming fears: choking anxiety, feeding confusion, not knowing what was normal for development, panicking over every fever, wondering if I was truly qualified to care for my own kids.
I realized why building healthy foundations was so hard for so many families — because raising kids IS hard. You're recovering from birth, juggling sleep deprivation, managing work, and trying to keep tiny humans alive while also figuring out what to feed them, how to support their health and development, and when to worry.
The "what ifs" became reality when I had to use my PICU skills at home — performing the Heimlich on two of my kids and responding to an anaphylactic reaction in my third baby. Even with my expertise, it was terrifying. If I was terrified or overwhelmed, I knew I wasn’t alone.
It also confirmed that parents weren't intentionally "doing the wrong thing" — they were under-supported, second-guessing themselves, and left to figure it out alone during the most critical window of their child's development.
That's when I decided to change it. I realized we could literally change the health trajectory of an entire generation by supporting parents during this critical window — giving them the tools, confidence, and clarity to build strong foundations across all areas of their child's health and development.
I created Bite Sized Wellness to bridge the gap between what families are told in short office visits and the real-life education and support they need every day.
A note to some of you who have been here from the beginning of Bite Sized Wellness…
My third baby changed everything and became my greatest teacher. What began as a focus on nutrition, feeding, and healthy lifestyles for littles quickly expanded when she arrived — my most adventurous, fearless, and yes, injury-prone little one who has given me a run for my money in every way imaginable. Through navigating her endless toddler adventures (and misadventures), I discovered that health isn't just about what's on their plate — it's all-encompassing.
It's having safety skills ready when they're scaling furniture, knowing how to respond in emergencies, understanding environmental factors that impact development, recognizing that access to resources varies greatly between families, and supporting parents through every challenge that comes their way.
Her adventures led me to expand my mission: equipping parents with comprehensive tools and confidence across all aspects of early childhood health and safety, because true wellness encompasses everything — feeding, safety, development, environment, and the support systems that hold it all together.
My Mission
To be your trusted guide for early childhood wellness — giving parents the tools, knowledge, and confidence to raise healthy, resilient kids during the most critical years of development.
Early childhood wellness foundations — from nutrition and feeding for babies and kids to safety skills, illness support, development milestones, and foundational health habits — during the most critical window of your child's health.
Medical/health decision-making at home — practical tools to help you feel calm and capable when your child is sick, hitting milestones, or facing challenges
Safety skills — CPR, choking, first aid, and emergency response, every caregiver should know
Because every child deserves to grow up with strong health foundations across all areas of wellness. And every parent deserves to feel like the confident expert their child needs.
A few things to know
My motto is simple: the more prepared and educated you are, the less you'll worry and the more you'll be able to truly enjoy these precious moments with your child.
I believe
In meeting families exactly where they are, without judgment, and tailoring my guidance to what matters most to your family. While I bring years of clinical experience and evidence-based knowledge to every conversation, I'm also humbled by my own children every single day. I know that every child and family is different, so your support should be unique to you.
Food and lifestyle are medicine, but they aren't the only medicine. Some children and families need a deeper look under the surface — while others need support for factors that may be beyond our control, like genetics, environment, and socioeconomic status.
I believe every child deserves access to quality food, safe places to move and play, and the resources they need to grow up free from preventable illness and chronic disease.
Every parent deserves support that's practical, evidence-based, kind, and truly accessible — not confusing or out of reach.
That's why Bite Sized Wellness is committed to serving all families and closing the gap in access to care and resources. From free community pop-up events and school workshops to partnerships with community organizations, we're working to help ensure that children's health shouldn't be a privilege.
