The Story
About me
Hi! I’m Cierra Crowley — a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, wife, mama of three, speaker, a passionate health advocate for kids, and the heart behind Bite Sized Wellness.
For over 12 years I have cared for kids and families— first as a pediatric nurse and now as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I have experience and advanced training in pediatric intensive care, pediatric obesity medicine, pediatric nutrition and health promotion, precision medicine and youth fitness.
But beyond the degrees and certifications, my real expertise comes from sitting knee-to-knee with thousands of families navigating the real-life challenges of raising healthy kids in today’s world.
My Why
In my pediatric obesity clinical practice, I saw a troubling trend: our kids are facing chronic illnesses — obesity, gut issues, inflammation, behavioral concerns — at younger and younger ages. Research shows that the first 1,000 days of life (from conception to about the age two) are crucial for building a child’s brain, body, metabolism, and immune system.
Ironically, these early years are some of the hardest for parents: recovering from birth, adjusting to new routines, juggling work, toddlerhood, and wondering how on earth to nourish a growing body and brain in today’s busy world (and especially when your kid refuses everything you offer them)
Over and over, I saw that families didn’t need just another diagnosis or prescription. They needed practical tools, clear education, safe places to play and move, and ongoing support to make sustainable lifestyle changes at home. But those resources were missing — there was a gap between what I could do in a short office visit and what families truly needed to build healthy habits for life.
And then, I became a mom myself, and the gap felt even wider. Despite my medical training, feeding my own babies and navigating picky toddler phases often felt confusing and overwhelming, not to mention the challenge of nourishing myself while raising a tiny human who needed the same. If I struggled, I knew countless other parents were struggling too.
So, I decided to change it.
I created Bite Sized Wellness to bridge the gap—blending modern pediatric care with holistic, lifestyle-based strategies that support real families in early childhood. We focus on prevention, not just reaction—empowering parents to build strong foundations in nutrition, movement, rhythm, sleep, and emotional regulation before chronic issues take hold.
My Mission
At Bite Sized Wellness, my mission is to help families not just manage health conditions, but prevent them by building strong wellness foundations from the very start.
I empower families to raise healthy, confident kids through whole, nourishing food, joyful movement, and simple, lifelong habits that fit into the beautiful messiness of daily life.
I believe food and lifestyle are medicine, but they aren’t the only medicine. Some children and families need a deeper look under the surface inside their growing bodies: gut imbalances, nutrient gaps, hidden food sensitivities — along with support for factors that may be beyond our control, like genetics, environment, and social determinants of health.
That’s what I’m here for: to guide, support, and stand beside you every step of the way.
I believe every child deserves access to quality food, safe places to move and play, and the resources they need to grow up free from preventable illness and chronic disease. And I believe every parent deserves support that’s practical, evidence-based, kind, and truly accessible — not confusing or out of reach.
I’m here to make that happen: one family, one meal, one bite at a time.
